About Master Gin Soon Chu

Gin Soon Chu, born in 1932, began studying Tai Chi Chuan with Master Lai Hok Soon in Hong Kong in 1956. When Master Lai died in 1964, he inherited the school. However, desiring further training, Master Chu turned the school over to his classmates and became a student of the famous Grandmaster Yang Shou-chung. In 1977, Master Chu was accepted as a disciple by Grand Master Yeung and was charged with maintaining and propagating the Yang family tradition in North America. He founded the Gin Soon Tai Chi Chuan Federation in Boston, where he teaches Tai Chi Chuan the traditional way, that is, giving individual instructions to all students.
Master Chu died in March 2019, and it was his sons, Vincent and Gordon, who took up the torch. The Gin Soon Tai Chi Chuan Federation continues to teach Tai Chi Chuan in the Yang style, carrying on the legacy of Master Chu.
